Shopping

How do I order?

To order your chosen garment in a standard size, simply click on the item you want and select your colour and size. If the item is in stock, add it to your basket and proceed to checkout- it’s as simple as that!

To order a Made to Measure garment, head to your chosen garment's page and click the Made to Measure icon. From there, you will be asked to input your measurements (for advice on how to measure, see How to Measure).

If your dress only requires size or colour alteration, and your measurements fall within our standard sizing (XS-L), then your dress will be added to your basket and you will be able to proceed to payment as normal. However, if your measurements are outside of the standard sizing, or you require any other alterations or additions, then your details with be submitted to our Customer Care team where someone will contact you regarding placing your order.

 

What about The Outlet?

Our sales are seasonal, and our Outlet site will therefore only be accessible throughout certain periods in the year. Sale items are offered on a first come first served basis and are only available in the colours and sizes listed on that specific product.

If you require a colour or size change for a sale item, the request will be treated as a Made to Measure order and you will be charged the full price for the garment.

 

Do you have a shop where I can try items on?

We sell our designs exclusively online, meaning that we don’t have a shop where you can physically try our garments on before you buy but we do offer free UK returns for standard sized garments.

 

What size should I order?

Our garments are sized in XS, S, M, and L. Please see the below size chart for how these relate to standard UK sizes.

Although our signature jersey fabric has an element of stretch to it, we do advise that you order your usual dress size, as all of our garments have been carefully designed to accommodate for any stretch incurred by the fabric.

If you feel that your body shape does not fall within our standard sizing, or you would like to make any changes to the fit of your chosen garment, our Made to Measure service allows for an item to be adjusted to suit your exact measurements. See below for more information on how our Made to Measure service works.

PLEASE NOTE: We have recently updated our sizing guides due to customer demand. We therefore advise that you order in your normal dress size, as our garment sizes are now in line with those on the high street.

 

I’m shopping for maternity, which size should I order?

For maternity, we advise that you order your normal size if you are in your 1st and 2nd trimesters. Our stretch jersey fabric grows with your body and fits comfortably over bumps so you can usually continue wearing your dress normal size- meaning you can wear your dress pre- and post- baby! During your 3rd trimester, you may find it more comfortable to order the next size up dependent upon your changing shape and the size of your bump. Please note, our Maternity collection features our standard size styles that we think work best with baby bumps, these styles are not maternity specific nor are they made larger. We can tailor make any style to fit your pregnancy figure perfectly via our Made to Measure service.

 

What size do I order if I am in between two sizes?

If you find that your measurements fall between two of the size options, we would recommend opting for the larger size. As our signature fabrics do feature an element of stretch and drape, this would be the most flattering result.

 

 

Made to Measure


What does your Made to Measure service offer?

Our exclusive Made to Measure service is designed so that your chosen dress, jumpsuit, or two-piece is fitted to suit your exact measurements and specifications. Whether you want to adjust the length, size or colour, our in-house design team can hand-tailor all of our garments for a unique fit and bespoke experience.

Our simple three-step guide, and specially designed measuring system makes ordering your Made to Measure garment easier than it’s ever been!


1. Choose your garment: Any piece from our collection can be hand-tailored to your exact measurements.

2. Choose your colour: Any garment can be made in one of our 20+ classic and seasonal colours.

3. Choose your perfect fit: Provide your measurements to have your garment tailored uniquely to you.

We’re proud of our exclusive service, and are happy to assist with large orders of bespoke garments for bridal parties or other occasions. Please email info@gorgeouscouture.com if you need assistance.

There is a standard charge of £20 per made to measure garment. If you require the addition of Swarovski crystals, a longer length, a re-design of elements of a garment, or your measurements fall outside our standard sizing (XS-L) then additional charges for fabric consumption and pattern alteration may apply.

Made to measure garments are tailored uniquely to you, and are therefore non-returnable and non-refundable. This does not affect your statutory rights.

 

How do I measure myself?

The measurements we require will be dependent on the garment that you wish to order, but all are easy to take with the help of a friend or partner! When measuring, we advise that you;


• Wear what you’re planning to wear underneath your dress, jumpsuit or two piece.

• Measure the length of maxi dresses or the inside leg of jumpsuits with your heels/chosen shoes on.

• Use a soft measuring tape.

 

What measurements do I need to send you?

The general measurements that you will need to provide when ordering your garment will be:

1. Bust  Measure the widest part of your bust

2. Under Bust  Measure under your bust

3. Waist  Measure around your natural waistline

4. Mid shoulder to waist  Measure from mid should down to your natural waist

5. Hips  Measure around the fullest part of your hips

6. Waist to hem  Measure from your natural waistline to your desired dress length

7. Total length  Measure from mid shoulder down to desired dress length (this should be the total of parts 5 and 6)

or Inside leg  Measure inside leg from crotch to desired length

8. Arm circumference  Measure around upper arm with muscles relaxed

9. Wrist circumference  Measure around wrist

10. Sleeve length  Measure from shoulder seam to desired length with arm relaxed

(Parts 8-10 only applicable to garments with sleeves)

 

Can I return a made to measure garment?

As Made to Measure garments are made uniquely for you, they are non-returnable. We therefore ask that you're sure about your colour choice and all measurements sent are accurate as we can't take responsibility for incorrect measurements given.

 

Can I request fabric swatches before ordering?

Yes, we have a swatch ordering service, here. You can order up to five swatches for £5 which can then be used as credit against a future order, should you wish to place one. Your swatches will be delivered to you free of charge or included with your garment(s) alongside a larger order.

 

Can you make me a dress in a different fabric, such as woven or embellished?

We only use our own signature jersey fabrics for making our garments. Our most-used signature fabric is a luxurious jersey, crease proof and with just the right amount of stretch for comfort and figure sculpting hold. Our lighter-weight Italian crepe jersey is available in select colours and offers a slightly different look and feel, ideally suited to warmer temperatures.

 

I’ve seen a picture of a dress I love, can you make it for me?

Unfortunately, our Made to Measure service is limited to our own unique designs and we therefore don’t have the capacity to create new dresses from scratch! Our Customer Care Team will gladly assist with any enquiries, and can recommend some of our own designs that could be altered to suit to your requirements. Email info@gorgeouscouture.com, and a member of our team will be in touch to help with finding your perfect dress!

 

I really like a dress from your collection but I’d like it made in a different colour.

Of course! Any style* can be made in any of our 20+ colours when ordered Made to Measure. Please note, certain styles work better in our signature jersey fabric and The Isabelle Maxi Dress and The Mila Two Piece are exclusively available in our Italian crepe jersey due to the nature of their designs.

 

What are Crystals from Swarovski®?

A number of our garments are embellished with genuine Swarovski Crystals. These premium, precision cut crystals add a refined, dazzling edge to any garment and can be added through our Made to Measure service in varying lengths and widths for an additional charge.

 

 

Bridal and Bridesmaid Dresses


I am getting married and want my bridesmaids to wear Gorgeous Couture. How can I organise this?

We’d be delighted to play a part in your big day! If you want your bridesmaids to wear Gorgeous Couture, but are stuck on a style, why not take a look at our Bridesmaid category, dedicated to our best selling dresses.

Can I order bespoke dresses for my wedding or bridal party?

Absolutely! We offer a full made to measure service for our brides and bridesmaids helping you to create your perfect bridal party. Any piece from our collection can be tailored to you and therefore totally unique. Have a look at our Made to Measure section for more info. We advise allowing plenty of time before your big day to complete the Made to Measure process in case any adjustments or amendments are required.

 

 

Payment


How do I pay for my order?

We accept all major credit and debit cards as well as PayPal, and all payments are processed without having to leave our website. You can pay with a credit or debit card, bank transfer or with your PayPal account. 

All orders are subject to authorisation by your card issuer.

 

When will I be charged?

Once your chosen payment method has been authorised, payment will be taken immediately and you will receive an email confirming your order. Your confirmation email will contain your order number, which you will need to keep safe in case of any returns or queries regarding your order.

If your payment method is not authorised, your order will be unsuccessful and we advise re-ordering with an alternative card or payment method.

 

What if I need to change or cancel my order?

Every single order is individually hand made by our in house design team especially for you. We therefore ask that you are 100% sure if you request to change or cancel your order with us, so that we can let them know of your request as soon as possible. Please note that due to the bespoke nature of Made to Measure orders we are unable to cancel these once placed.

If you wish to amend or cancel an order, please notify us as soon as possible so your request can be dealt with before your garment is made.

The quickest way to communicate any changes to us is to email cancellations@gorgeouscouture.com quoting your order reference number and further details. We’ll then email you to confirm that your request has received.

 

What’s the status of my order?

Once you’ve placed your order you’ll receive an order confirmation email detailing your unique order number. We'll keep you updated about the progress of each garment so you know exactly where we're up to with making it- informative hey? Once your item is ready to be shipped you’ll receive a shipping confirmation email, allowing you to track your delivery.

 

I have only received part of my order, where is the rest?

During busy periods we may dispatch items from your order as and when they are ready so everything is with you as soon as possible. Don't worry, your remaining items will be on their way!

 

 

Delivery


When will I receive my order?

To ensure that your order is with you in the quickest time possible, we send all orders via DPD Local’s next day delivery service, once your order has been made. All orders are handmade by our accomplished design team within 3-5 working days, excluding weekends and bank holidays, and then express delivered as standard. We currently advise 4-6 working days for UK delivery, once you have placed your order. Orders are delivered Monday- Friday excluding bank holidays.

For Made to Measure garments, we generally advise 8-10 working days from the date you place your order, due to the personalised element and bespoke nature of your purchase.

PLEASE NOTE: Order times may vary, during busy periods we cannot guarantee that your dress will be with you within the recommended time frame but be assured we endeavour to complete orders as soon as possible.

 

Can my order be made any sooner?

We may be able to fast track some urgent orders to be made by a certain time, however this is dependent entirely upon how busy we are at that moment. 

Express orders are only doable if we aren’t in a busy period, and if our design team have the capacity to complete certain orders to it’s specified date.

How much does delivery cost?

The cost of our delivery service is £7.95 for orders within the UK, which includes an embossed Gorgeous Couture box and velvet flock hanger.

PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee delivery dates although we do endeavour to have your order with you as soon as possible.

 

What if I am ordering from outside of the UK?

We offer worldwide international delivery to countries outside of the UK via DHL. The price of delivery will be dependent on your location, see our calculator below for your country's price.

We generally advise 10-14 days for delivery from the time you place your order although this will vary depending on your location.

Import duties and taxes are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are your responsibility and are charged and regulated by your government. Please check with your country’s custom office to determine what these additional costs are prior to purchase.

Returns


How do I return an item?

Our returns process has been designed to be as easy as possible for our customers. You have 14 days from the date of receipt in which to return (for free!) any unsuitable garments for a refund, an exchange or alteration.

To return all or part of your order, follow these simple steps:

1. Log into your account and head to My Orders.

2. Under the order you wish to return; request a return, select the reason, an action and enter any relevant comments per item.

3. A unique returns slip and free postage label will be generated for you, simply print these out and follow the listed instructions.

Please note that it is very important that all items are returned in their original condition and in their original packaging, including the outer box. Missing hangers and boxes will be subject to a £10 charge at our discretion.

All tags must remain attached and the garment must not show any signs of wear. Garments with odours or marks including perfume, make up and deodorant will not be accepted as a return and will be sent back to you. Returns sent outside of the 14 day period will be sent back to you.

Refunds will be credited to the original card used for payment, please allow up to 14 days for a refund to show in your account from the date we receive your return.

Exchanges, Alterations and Made to Measure requests will be processed by our Customer Care team once your return has been received.

 

What if I’m returning internationally?

For international returns, you have 14 days from the date of receipt in which to return any unsuitable garments for a refund, an exchange or alteration. To return all or part of your order, follow these simple steps:

We are unable to provide free returns for international orders so we recommend using a courier providing a tracked service to return any items to us. Our address for returns is:

Refunds will be automatically issued to the original payment card and should appear in your account within 14 working days of our receipt of your return.

 

 

Garment Care

 

How do I care for my Gorgeous Couture garments?

Standard Gorgeous Couture dresses are recommended to be dry cleaned to maintain and care for them for as long as possible. They can also be hand washed or machine washed on a 30 degree gentle cycle.

Due to the delicate nature of the fabric please do not wash with items that have embellishment, zips or anything that could potentially “catch” on the fabric. Please follow the care label for full instructions.

We also recommend being extremely careful with any jewellery – in particular bracelets that could potentially cause pulls on the jersey.

If you have purchased a Swarovski crystal embellished dress or jumpsuit please refer to the special care label for full instructions as Swarovski Crystals cannot come into contact with moisture. We are not responsible for improper care of garments embellished with Crystals from Swarovski or otherwise.

 

Faulty Goods

If your order arrives faulty or damaged please contact info@gorgeouscouture.com as soon as possible so we can offer a repair, replacement or a refund. We offer a complimentary repair service up to one year after the purchase date of any garment.
